School Day

We follow the term dates set out by Wiltshire Council in order to maximise parental convenience. Pupils attend The Wellington Primaries from Monday to Friday. The school gate opens at 8.30am in order to allow children to access the playground chat to their class teachers and prepare for the day ahead. Reception and KS1 pupils must be accompanied by an adult until the bell to begin registration rings at 8.45am. School finishes at 3.15pm and we provide a variety of after school clubs for all age groups as well as ‘JAG’ before and after school care.

House Buddy System

In order to foster teambuilding and a feeling of belonging, pupils at Wellington Eagles Primary Academy are placed into a ‘House’ system named after local rivers.

They are:

Bourne
Nadder
Wylye
Ebble

Siblings are always placed together and each pupil takes responsibility for their own role within their House. A competition is run throughout the year, with pupils awarded points for academic performance, effort or conduct and able to gain points in sporting, musical or artistic activities. The winning House is awarded the house trophy each week which is given to the House Captain and Vice-Captain in assembly. The system aims to encourage excellent behaviour and pride within the school community.

Emergency School Closure

Parents are reminded that if Wellington Eagles Primary Academy has to close due to adverse weather conditions, lack of essential infrastructure (e.g heating etc) or inadequate number of staff to provide supervision, then parents will be informed via text initially. The information will also be made available on our website.

We appreciate that this may cause difficulties for parents who need to get to work, therefore we may also consider running a later starting or earlier finishing time so that staff travelling to Wellington Eagles Primary Academy are not under any significant or adverse risk.
